Medford Man Busted for Driving on Drugs after Speeding at Over 120 MPH, Cops Say

SCPD arrested Muhammad Javed of Medford, 27, for driving on drugs at over 120 mph on the LIE.

Suffolk County, NY - January 22, 2017 - Suffolk County Police today arrested a man for driving while ability impaired by drugs after he drove at over 120 mph on the Long Island Expressway from Nassau County to exit 64 in Suffolk County.
 
Muhammad Javed was observed by Nassau County Police officers driving a 2012 Honda Accord at a high rate of speed eastbound on the LIE as he was entering Suffolk County at approximately 2:20 a.m. on January 22, 2018. Suffolk County Police Highway Patrol officers tracked the Honda’s speed at 124 mph. Officers stopped the Honda when it exited the expressway at exit 64, Route 112 in Medford.
 
Javed, 27, of Medford, was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Reckless Driving and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. He was also issued a summons for speeding. Javed will be held overnight at the Sixth Precinct and arraigned on January 22 at First District Court in Central Islip.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
