Sag Harbor, NY - January 22, 2019 - Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to offer MIGHTY MYTHS & LEGENDS: A MUSICAL PERFORMANCE CAMP, February 18-22 from 9 am – 3 pm daily. The camp is for ages 7 – 12, taught by Bethany Dellapolla and ages 13- 18 taught by Allen O’Reilly.
Students will work independently in each of the two split sessions to create a musical based on their life stories incorporating their favorite classic myths and fairy tales. Then on the final day of camp, the groups will join forces and present a final performance for friends and family.
“This is the first year we are offering two age groups for the February camp,” says Allen O’Reilly, Director of Education at Bay Street Theater. “It’s part of our expanding theater education plans for 2019.”
Registration is $470 per child or teen. Parents and Guardians can register their kids by calling the Administrative Office at 631-725-0818 or by printing forms online at baystreet.org.
Allen O’Reilly has been an educator and professional actor for over thirty years. He has served as Artistic Director at Young Audiences of Atlanta, Education Director at Georgia Shakespeare and most recently Education Programs Manager at Cleveland Play House. Allen has acted at Cleveland Play House, Geva Theatre. Clarence Brown and the Alliance Theatre and was an associate artist at Georgia Shakespeare for twenty-four seasons. TV/film credits include: Sleepy Hollow, TURN: Washington’s Spies, Bobby Jones, Stroke of Genius, The Assassin’s Code and the upcoming Anhedonia.
Bethany Dellapolla is an actress, teacher, director, and choreographer based in NYC and Long Island. She received her BA in Theatre Performance from SUNY New Paltz, where she was named one of the Outstanding Graduates of her class. She also graduated (with honors), from LIU with her Master’s Degree in Childhood Education, and holds teaching certifications in Childhood Education, Early Childhood Education, Special Education, and Theatre Education. Bethany is also the co-founder of NexGen Youth Theatre, a youth theatre company based out of New York City. She is also a competitive ballroom dancer.
Bay Street Theater is a year-round, not-for-profit professional theater and community cultural center which endeavors to innovate, educate, and entertain a diverse community through the practice of the performing arts.
