Sixth Squad Detectives report the arrest of a Great Neck man for Criminal Possession of a Weapon that occurred on Friday, January 19, 2024 at 3:18 pm.
 
According to detectives, an investigation was being conducted regarding damaged property on Somerset Drive.  While investigating, detectives responded to 37 Somerset Drive.  Detectives knocked at the door and observed a male closing blinds in the windows and aggressively moving throughout the house.  The subject then raised and aimed what appeared to be a black rifle at detectives.  They immediately took positions of cover and concealment.
 
 
Police entered the residence and Mitchell Levy, 36, of 36 Somerset Drive was arrested.  He was transported to an area hospital for evaluation.
 
A second male, 90, was also in the residence.  He was not injured but was transported to an area hospital for evaluation.
A black pellet rifle was recovered from the residence.
 
Defendant Levy is charged with Menacing a Police Officer, two (2) Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree, Petit Larceny, Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree and two (2) counts of Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree.  He will be arraigned on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at First District Court, Hempstead.
