Ra Honors Law Enforcement Appreciation Day With "Praise Our Police" Program

Written by Chris Boyle  |  23. January 2024

Recently, Assemblyman Ed Ra (R-Franklin Square) introduced a resolution in the Assembly Chamber to proclaim Jan. 9 as Law Enforcement Appreciation Day in the state of New York. In honor of Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, Ra implemented his Praise Our Police program with several local school districts. The initiative encourages students to craft heartfelt messages of appreciation through handmade cards, posters and class banners, which are then collected from each participating school and delivered to different agencies.

“I am truly humbled by the overwhelming response to this year’s Praise Our Police program. The several hundred expressions of gratitude from students across our school districts highlight the deep appreciation our communities hold for the dedication and service of our local law enforcement officers. To all the officers tirelessly serving and protecting our towns, counties, schools, state and nation, 'thank you.’ Your commitment to protecting the safety and well-being of our communities does not go unnoticed, and the Praise Our Police project is a small, yet meaningful, way for our students to express their sincere appreciation for your sacrifices and service,” Ra said.
