AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING An Air Quality Health Advisory remains in effect for the following counties: Nassau and Suffolk. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of ground level ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Two Separate Burglaries at Westbury High School

Crime Stoppers, The Nassau County Police Department, and The Old Westbury Police Department are seeking the public’s help with any information regarding two separate burglaries that occurred at Westbury High School in Old Westbury, NY.

Westbury, NY - January 23, 2015 - Crime Stoppers, The Nassau County Police Department, and The Old Westbury Police Department are seeking the public’s help with any information regarding two separate burglaries that occurred at Westbury High School in Old Westbury, NY.

During the overnight hours of Monday June 23, 2014 unknown person(s) broke into Westbury High School located at One Post Rd in Old Westbury. At that time a quantity of Apple Mac book computers were stolen and the person(s) responsible fled the scene. On a second occasion between Sunday December 28, 2014, and Monday December 29, 2014 unknown person(s) broke into Westbury High School. During this burglary a quantity of Apple I-Mac desktop computers were stolen. The person(s) responsible again fled the scene. The total loss and damage to the school district was in excess of $66,000 dollars.
