NCPD Homicide Squad Detectives Announce Third Arrest Made in Connection with Fatal Hempstead Shooting
The Homicide Squad announces that an additional arrest has been made in connection with a Murder that occurred on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at approximately 1:30 AM in Hempstead.
According to the Detectives, Hempstead Police Officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation at Polk Avenue. Upon arrival, Officers discovered two female victims with apparent gunshot wounds and were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. One female victim is in stable condition and the other is critical.
Later, on April 4, 2023, Kimberly Midgette, 44, succumbed to her injuries. The second female victim, 31, was released from the hospital.
On November 2, 2023, Oumar Barry, 27, of 147 Terrace Avenue Hempstead and a 16-year-old male juvenile were arrested in connection with the above crime. Each Defendant was charged with Murder 2nd Degree and were arraigned on Friday, November 3, 2023 in First District Court and the Youth Part at 99 Main Street Hempstead.
Following those arrests, Homicide Squad Detectives announced that Milton Allen, 20, of 36 Grove Street, Hempstead, was also arrested on January 22, 2024 in connection with the above incident. He is charged with Murder 2nd. He will be arraigned on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
