Governor Hochul Announces State Landmarks To Be Illuminated In Recognition Of International Holocaust Remembrance Day

Governor Kathy Hochul today announced 15 State landmarks will be illuminated yellow on the evening of Saturday, January 27 in honor of International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

“The unconscionable horrors of the Holocaust are a reminder of hatred’s capacity to destroy our humanity,” Governor Hochul said. “Today we honor each of the 6 million Jewish lives lost and renew our commitment to stopping hate in all its forms.”

Landmarks to be lit include:

  • 1WTC
  • Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge
  • Kosciuszko Bridge
  • The H. Carl McCall SUNY Building
  • State Education Building
  • Alfred E. Smith State Office Building
  • Empire State Plaza
  • State Fairgrounds – Main Gate & Expo Center
  • Niagara Falls
  • Grand Central Terminal – Pershing Square Viaduct
  • Albany International Airport Gateway
  • MTA LIRR – East End Gateway at Penn Station
  • Fairport Lift Bridge over the Erie Canal  
  • Moynihan Train Hall
  • Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park
