Nassau County Legislator Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) is partnering with Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. Donnelly to present Operation Safe Child at the Syosset Public Library on Saturday, February 3.

From 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., families will have the opportunity to have their children fingerprinted and photographed and a card issued to them at no cost. Safe Child cards contain a child’s name, biographical information, fingerprint images of both index fingers and a high-resolution digital photo. In addition, the fingerprints of that child will be included in a special search file and compared against all incoming fingerprints submitted to the agency. To date, the Nassau DA’s office has produced more than 10,000 cards for children.

“In the terrifying scenario that a child ever goes missing, the most important thing is for law enforcement to have every resource at their disposal to find them as quickly as possible,” Legislator Drucker said. “Operation Safe Child ensures that the people searching for your child have accurate information from the start – and that can make all the difference. If you have not done so previously, I encourage you to come to the Syosset Public Library and take advantage of this vital, no-cost program.”

WHEN – 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3.

WHERE – Syosset Public Library, 225 South Oyster Bay Road, Syosset, N.Y. 11791.
