Legislator Arnold W. Drucker Congratulates Honorees at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Luncheon
Uniondale, NY - January 28, 2019 - Nassau County Legislator Arnold W. Drucker (D - Plainview) joined his colleagues in government to celebrate Nassau County’s 34th annual observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday at the Long Island Marriott in Uniondale on Monday, Jan. 21.
During the scholarship luncheon, which was organized by County Executive Laura Curran and the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Celebration Committee of Nassau County, four individuals were highlighted for their outstanding contributions to the community.
Legislator Drucker presented Nassau County Citations to 2019 honorees Dr. John HigonEun, Senior Pastor, Chamsarang Korean Methodist Church in Hempstead; Perry Green, Ed.D.: Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion at Adelphi University; Dana R. Boylan, Esq.: Executive Director, Nassau County’s Office of Youth Services; and Lynnette Carr-Hicks: Director of Uniondale High School’s acclaimed “Rhythm of the Knight” show choir.
“Dr. King famously asked, ‘Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others?’ These four outstanding community leaders can answer that question confidently with the knowledge that they are uplifting the lives of others,” Legislator Drucker said. “Dr. King’s message is more important than ever in 2019 and I pledge to do my part to amplify his mantra of love and inclusion.”
