The Southold Fourth Annual WinterFest is slated for Saturday, February 8, 2024, on Main Road in Southold Hamlet from 10 AM to 3 PM. This memorable event offers ice carving, fun, music, food and special events for everyone, plus plenty of parking. The event is free for all residents and visitors.
A unique feature of the event is the exclusive ice carving by Apple Ice, a top sponsor of WinterFest and leading Long Island ice provider. Dan Bergin, their artist, will create several life-size sculptures: a WinterFest sponsor wall, a dragon, Eskimos, an elegant flower vase, and a lovebirds heart. Event founder, Jennifer Del Vaglio, owner of East End Pool King, commented, “Each year Apple Ice ups their game. They are always one of our key attractions. We applaud their commitment to WinterFest and proud to have them with us!”
WinterFest offers something for everyone. In addition to free food and beverage tastings, there is a full slate of entertainment including DJ Phil, Eastern LI Old Time Jam, Greg Humphreys Band, GUNK. Girl Band, The Hoodo Loungers, Lady T Dance Troupe, NYC’s Emphasis Break Dancers, Roth and Fuhr Men Band, and the renown, Macy’s Parade, Wantagh American Legion Pipe Band.
The event expects approximately 2,000 attendees who will have the opportunity to explore 50 exhibits and 20 local merchants. Attendees will have the chance to win various prizes, take part in gift basket drawings, and enjoy complimentary food and beverage samples. For example, North Fork Taps and Corks and Polywoda Beverage will offer free samplings from Shelter Island Craft Brewery, Maroni Cuisine will provide its famous marshmallow-topped chocolate mousse, Latin Fuzion is giving away samples of its delicious Chile con carne, a new business in town, Party Animal, will have gourmet popcorn, and the First Presbyterian Church will offer scrumptious twice-baked potatoes.
Visitors needn’t worry about enough to eat or drink, because the event planners included food trucks serving up the finest varied cuisine including Nonna’s Pasta Truck, Braun Seafood, BELEZZA Brazilian BBQ and NOFO Flour Shoppe. Many wineries will be represented, for example, Duck Walk, LI Vinecare, McCall, Pindar, Raphael, Salt Bird Cellars, Sannino and Wine Cellar Imports. Plus, Bogey’s Bottled Goods and Matchbook Distilling will have tables.
