Discover Long Island Announces Internal Promotions and New Hires
Discover Long Island (DLI), the region’s only accredited destination marketing organization, is pleased to announce significant internal advancements as part of its ongoing mission to strengthen DLI as a leader in both the travel and tourism industry, and also the Long Island community. These latest promotions and new hires reflect the organization’s commitment to fostering talent and driving innovation in tourism.

- Stacy Black, current resident of Plainview, NY:
Promoted to Vice President of Strategy, advancing from her role as Senior Project Manager. In just her first year at Discover Long Island, Black utilized her decades-long experience in marketing and project management to become a driving force in optimizing operations, enhancing efficiencies, and fostering cross-functional collaboration. In this executive role, she will continue these efforts to spearhead numerous strategic initiatives that position the organization at the forefront of destination marketing, ensuring sustainable growth, adaptability, and long-term industry leadership.
- Alfredo Gonzalez, current resident of Ormond Beach, FL:
After more than seven years as Discover Long Island’s International Consultant, Gonzalez has been elevated to lead the Sales & Travel Trade Department. With more than 40 years of industry experience in domestic and global travel trade specializing in air service international development, Gonzalez will lead the internal sales team to new heights in attracting domestic meetings, sporting events, and growing the destination’s global footprint.
- Brianna McEnroe, current resident of Kings Park, NY:
Promoted to Vice President of Brand & Innovation from her role as Director of Social Media & Branded Content. McEnroe began her journey at DLI more than five years ago and has continued to serve as a key force in shaping the organization’s social media and digital strategy. She also plays a leading role in DLI’s partnership with News 12 Long Island through her work on the show’s popular weekend segment “The East End.” McEnroe’s new role will ensure that the brand strategy and innovation that she has developed through her social media efforts will be carried through the entire organization and adopted in every department.
- Michael Magaraci, current resident of Brooklyn, NY:
Promoted to Director of Social Media & Podcast Production from Social and Digital Content Manager & Podcast Producer. A proud DLI employee for almost three years, Magaraci has played a critical role in expanding Discover Long Island’s digital footprint through content creation and producing its two popular podcast series: Long Island Tea and C-Suite Tea. In this new role he is excited to bring fresh ideas to take the organization’s social media presence and podcast content to the next level.
- Courtney Guiry, current resident of Huntington, NY:
Promoted to Director of Public Relations & Communications from her previous role as Senior Manager of Public Relations & Communications. Guiry has been with DLI for almost two years after a prior role in broadcast news. With this advancement she looks forward to continuing to use her journalism background to elevate Long Island’s media presence through strategic media outreach and impactful communication efforts.
- Matthew Kane, current resident of Mount Sinai, NY:
After a year of experience at DLI as Partnership & Events Coordinator, Kane has moved into an Executive Assistant role where he looks forward to utilizing his Master’s degree in Business Administration to support the CEO, COO and the organization’s executive leadership team.
- Rikki Alessi, current resident of Shoreham, NY:
Alessi has joined Discover Long Island as Partnership & Events Coordinator. After attending Providence College Alessi received her Master’s degree in Business Administration, with a focus in hospitality, from Johnson and Wales University. Alessi is excited to now utilize her talents and passion for the tourism industry with the region’s only accredited Destination Marketing Organization.
