Central Islip, NY - Janury 30, 2017 - Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred at a Central Islip deli this morning.
Esteban Alvarado-Bonilla was inside El Campesino, located at 133 Calebs Path, when he was shot at approximately 10:30 a.m. Alvarado-Bonilla, 29, of Brentwood, was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where he was pronounced dead. A female employee was believed to be accidentally shot and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives believe the man was targeted and the shooting is gang-related. The investigation is ongoing.
