Uniondale, NY - February 2, 2018 - The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of seven individuals for a Robbery that occurred at 2:40pm on Thursday, February 1, 2018 in Uniondale.
According to Gang Investigations Squad Detectives, the seven defendants participated in a robbery in front of Uniondale High School located at 933 Goodrich Street. The male victim, 15, was kicked and punched about the head and chest suffering lacerations and contusions. The proceeds from the robbery was an iPhone 7 Plus.
Witnesses observed the seven defendants enter a red colored Nissan Murano and drive away from the scene. Officers observed the vehicle and performed a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop in the vicinity of Chester Street and Henry Street. All seven defendants were occupants in the vehicle and placed under arrest. The iPhone was recovered from the vehicle.
Arrested were: Ronis Canales, 16, of Hempstead; Anthony Mejia-Maldonado, 16, of Hempstead; Trevon Eatman, 16, of Hempstead; Jordan Calderon, 17, of Hempstead; Jefry Martinez, 19, of Hempstead and two juveniles ages 14 and 15 years (to be arraigned in Family Court).
The defendants are each charged with two counts of Robbery 2nd Degree and will be arraigned on Friday, February 2, 2018 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
