NCPD: Rosedale Shoplifter Caught Red-Handed By Police After Fleeing North Lawrence Target

The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of a Rosedale man for a Robbery that occurred on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 5:37 pm in North Lawrence. 
 
According to Detectives, Defendant Jose Angel Rodriguez, 43, of 24806 Rockaway Boulevard entered Target located at 345 Rockaway Turnpike and concealed assorted merchandise under his shirt and in his pants. The defendant then proceeded to pass all points of purchase and exit the store without rendering payment. Loss prevention officers confronted Rodriguez who then shoved the employee before fleeing scene. 
 
Subsequent to the investigation, responding officers located Defendant Rodriguez nearby and placed him under arrest without further incident. No injuries were reported. Upon retrieval of the concealed items some of the merchandise was rendered unsalable. 
 
Defendant Jose Angel Rodriguez is charged with Robbery 3rd Degree, Petit Larceny, Obstructing Governmental Administration and Tampering with Physical Evidence. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
