AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING An Air Quality Health Advisory remains in effect for the following counties: Nassau and Suffolk. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of ground level ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Baldwin, NY - February 6, 2015 - The First Squad is investigating a Serious Vehicular Auto Accident that occurred in Baldwin on Friday, February 06, 2015 at 5:18 am.
 
According to detectives, First Precinct Police Officers responded to an overturned auto that hit a utility pole in front of 2570 Millburn Avenue. Upon arrival First Precinct Police officer’s observed a 2014 Jeep on its roof 100 feet south of a downed utility pole. A 38 year old male was ejected from the vehicle and found lying in the street with severe bleeding from his pelvic area.
 
The male victim was transported to a local hospital in a Nassau County Police Ambulance and treated for a broken pelvis, femur, and ruptured bladder. He is listed in critical but stable condition. The investigation is ongoing.
