AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following areas: All five boroughs of New York City, and Westchester, Rockland, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Man Found Dead in Patchogue

Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man who was found in his home in Patchogue yesterday.

Daniel Gaber, 41, of Patchogue, was found dead in his home on February 5, 2017. The cause of death is currently under investigation. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Homicide Squad detectives at 631-852-6392 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.

Patchogue, NY - February 6, 2017 - Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man who was found in his home in Patchogue yesterday.

A friend visiting the victim's home found Daniel Gaber dead inside the upstairs apartment where he lived alone. The friend called 911 and Fifth Precinct Patrol officers responded.  Gaber was pronounced dead at the scene by a Physician’s Assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

Gaber, 41, was transported to the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death.
