Hilltop Kitchen & Bar has finally opened in Syosset. As we reported earlier, the new restaurant replaces the old Friendly’s restaurant at 150 Jericho Turnpike.
Located on the southeast corner of Jericho Turnpike and Gordon Drive on 1.18 acres, the site had been in development since 2020. With expected plans to open in 2021 postponed, Hilltop Kitchen & Bar began hiring staff last Spring.
Appetizers include Dancing Shrimp, with kataifi and lemon white wine sauce ($15), Homestyle Ribs ($17), and Grilled Octopu in lemon white wine sauce ($22). They have burgers like their Dirty Mac with creamy mac & cheese on a pretzel bun ($21) and the award-winning LI Pulse Burger with chocolate candied bacon, crispy onions, white cheddar and dirty maple sauce on a brioche bun ($21).
Entrees include the Dirty Druken Ribeye, a dry-aged 20 oz steak with honey glazed potatoes, broccolini in cabernet sauce ($65) and a Short Rib Wellington with mushroom duxelle, asparagus,and green peppercorn sauce ($39).
