Long Island woke up to a less than welcome sight the day after Super Bowl 50, as another nor’easter came to drop another round of snow on the area. Fortunately, the storm was not nearly as intense as the one which struck just three days earlier, but it was still enough to convince many schools around the Island to close for the day. In Nassau County, Plainview received over 3.5 inches of snow, and in Suffolk, Yaphank topped the list with 6.4 inches. As predicted, greater snowfall totals were recorded on the eastern end of the Island.
Nearby in Manhattan's Central Park, only trace amounts of of snowfall were recorded; in Queens there was a total of about 1.5-2 inches, and in Brooklyn, they received totals of less than an inch of snow.
