Selden, Hauppauge, and now Duck Donuts has opened in Garden City. The fresh and famous donut shop that started on the sandy shores of the Outer Banks in North Carolina has migrated north to our own sandy shores on Long Island.

Donuts have evolved passed the everyday plain or chocolate glazed or even the Boston creme. Today, donuts comes in all kinds of mashed up flavors and Duck Donuts serves up some of the zaniest.

Take their Bacon in the Sun, with maple icing topped with chopped bacon and salted caramel drizzle. Or the Beach Ball with vanilla icing, rainbow sprinkles, and chocolate drizzle.

On Yelp, Amrit A, from Great Neck, gave Duck Donuts five stars.

“The donuts were SO good. I'm really not a big donut person in general but it was great,” he wrote. “The maple donut was my personal favorite (perfectly sweet and savory). I also enjoyed the blueberry lemonade donut.”

Lina Michelle V, from  Oakland Gardens, Queens, also gave it five stars.

“I wanted to start this review by writing ‘STAY AWAY’ and by this I mean you're going to be ‘HOOKED.,” she wrote. “Seriously don't stay away, you HAVE to try these donuts! To prove my point I visited 2 days in a row.”
