Mastic Beach, NY -  February 17th, 2014 - William Floyd High School Fashion Marketing students in Korin Cloghessy and Jacqueline Giacalone’s classes recently had the unique opportunity to meet with two representatives from Versace USA, one of the world’s leading fashion design brands, to learn what it takes to be successful in the very competitive fashion industry.

Salvatore Tramuto, a William Floyd High School graduate (1987) and the Vice President of Retail at Versace USA, and Alla Farberov, a Senior Buyer for Versace USA, met with students and gave them a detailed presentation outlining their company and showed them a compilation video of Versace fashion shows.

“Students learned what a typical day is like in the fashion industry and how personality and professionalism play a major role in what they do,” said Ms. Giacalone. She noted that many of the students were impressed with Versace’s designs, the quality of their clothes and of the list of celebrities who regularly wear their designs.

“Having both Salvatore and Alla come to the classes helped our students identify how to pursue what they want to do with their futures in the fashion industry,” said Ms. Giacalone. “This was a great experience for college and career readiness.”
