AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING An Air Quality Health Advisory remains in effect for the following counties: Nassau and Suffolk. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of ground level ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Riverhead Police Department detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who used counterfeit money at a store in Riverhead last month.

Riverhead, NY - Febrauary 12th, 2015 - Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Riverhead Police Department detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who used counterfeit money at a store in Riverhead last month.

A man entered Walgreens, located at 1196 Old Country Road, and purchased a $500 gift card using five counterfeit $100 bills on January 16, 2015 at approximately 6:20 p.m.

The suspect is described as black, 5 feet 11 inches tall with a beard. He was wearing a red jacket and jeans.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
