Lindenhurst, NY - February 13, 2015 - Suffolk County Police Pattern Crime Unit detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred today at a bank in Lindenhurst.
A man entered Capital One, located at 300 South Wellwood Avenue, approached a teller at approximately 5:40 p.m. and passed a note announcing a robbery. The teller complied with the robber’s demands and gave him cash from the drawer. The suspect fled on foot southbound on South Wellwood.
The robber is described as a white male in his 40s, between 5 feet 8 inches tall and 5 feet 10 inches tall. He was wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt, grey sweatpants.
The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
