AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following areas: All five boroughs of New York City, and Westchester, Rockland, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Babylon Village Man Arrested for Damaging Businesses with Graffiti, Cops Say

SCPD have arrested Joseph Cassidy of Babylon, 37, for damaging businesses and public property with graffiti.

Babylon Village, NY - February 13, 2018 - Suffolk County Police have arrested a man for damaging businesses and public property with graffiti over a span of more than two months.
 
Following an investigation by First Precinct Crime Section officers, Joseph Cassidy was identified in connection with spray painting at least 15 “NES” tags on businesses and municipal property located in Babylon Village between December 1, 2017 and February 6, 2018.
 
Cassidy, 37, of Babylon, was charged with 9 counts of Making Graffiti, a Class A Misdemeanor.
 
He is being held overnight at the First Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on February 13.
