With locations already in Williston park and Commack, brothers Rosendo and Jose Fernández are now serving up Spanish flavors in Island Park. Their third Sangria 71 opened on January 22nd serving tapas, entress, and large dishes of paellas, and of course sangrias.
Their tapas selection is extensive featuring more than 30 small plate selections as is their sangria list. Sangria menu ranges from classic (blend of brandy, triple sec, redor white rioja, fruit, sparkling soda) to flavored with mango, strawberry, or passion fruit, white wine rioja, fresh fruit, brandy, triple sec, and a splash of soda.

Entrees include seafood, lobster, chicken and steak dishes. Their seafood menu includes plenty of paella options like their paella valenciana which has a delicious sounding blend of saffron rice, clams, mussels, shrimp, sea scallops, chicken, and chorizo. On the meat menu pick from traditional arroz con pollo, a classic dish of chicken and saffron rice with chorizo, or try their ternera extremena, veal, chorizo, peppers, onions, and wine.
Yelp has been lighting up with reviews for the new location. Young Yil Y. from Island Park exclaimed that “their paella is a must!!!”
“What a wonderful addition to the south shore,” wrote Maria F., of Island Park. “We had great Spanish restaurants here for many years and nothing after hurricane sandy. This one is long overdue.”
Sangria 71 is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 12-10pm and Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 12- 11pm. They are closed on Tuesday.
