AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following areas: All five boroughs of New York City, and Westchester, Rockland, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. All customers affected by yesterday’s winter weather event have been restored.

Long Island, NY - February 14th, 2014 - All customers affected by yesterday’s winter weather event have been restored. A total of 13,721 PSEG Long Island customers had their power restored. Restoration crews worked extended shifts to get our customers restored as quickly and safely as possible.
 
The peak number of outages (3,899) occurred at 2:00 pm on Wednesday.

We have resumed routine operations. 
 
The weather forecast indicates that there is a chance of light snow on Saturday accompanied by wind gusts of 30-40 mph. We will monitor the weather and will be prepared to address any outages as needed. We encourage customers to report downed wires or power outages to 1-800-490-0075. PSEG Long Island uses an automated system to handle customer calls as efficiently as possible.
