The Fifth Squad reports the arrest of Valley Stream man for an Assault that occurred on Monday, February 13, 2023 at 10:30 pm in Elmont.
According to Detectives, officers responded to 181 South Franklin Avenue, Valley Stream for a suspicious person. After a thorough investigation David Owusu, 31, of 12 Brooklyn Avenue was arrested without incident for Criminal Trespass 3rd Degree.
While in custody at the Fifth precinct the defendant punched a police officer in the head, officers were able to restrain the defendant who was then transported to a local hospital for treatment of a minor laceration above his eye.
While being treated at the hospital the defendant punched another officer in the head. Both officers who sustained injuries during the course of the arrest were transported to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
Defendant Owusu is charged with two counts of Assault 2nd Degree and Criminal Trespass 3rd Degree. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at First District Court, 99 Main Street in Hempstead.
