NCPD: Hit-and-Run Driver that Seriously Injured 91-Year-Old Pedestrian Located and Arrested
The Homicide Squad reports that an arrest has been made in connection with a Vehicular Accident involving a pedestrian that originally occurred on Monday, January 1, 2024 at 5:12 p.m. in Roslyn Heights.
According to Detectives, a male pedestrian, 91, was attempting to cross Mineola Avenue in the vicinity of Hillside Avenue when he was struck by a dark colored SUV traveling northbound on Mineola Avenue. The driver fled the scene.
The male pedestrian suffered severe trauma and was transported to a local hospital where he was listed as being in critical condition.
The Homicide Squad reports the arrest of Fariddun Djumaev, 39, of 6615 Wetherole Street, Rego Park for the above Vehicular Accident. Defendant Djumaev is charged with Leaving the Scene of an Incident causing Serious Injury.
The defendant was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Thursday, February 13, 2025.
