AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING An Air Quality Health Advisory remains in effect for the following counties: Nassau and Suffolk. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of ground level ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. An armed robber stole money from a store safe in Westbury.

Westbury, NY - February 15, 2014 - The Third Squad is investigating a Robbery that occurred on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 6:45 AM in Westbury.
 
According to detectives, a 53 year old female victim was opening Walgreens, 15 Old Country Road, when an unknown subject displayed a black handgun and told the victim to open the door and disable the alarm.  The two then walked to the office where the subject demanded that the victim open the safe.  The subject then took cash and fled the store in an unknown direction.  Proceeds were an undetermined amount of US currency.  There were no reported injuries. The subject is described as a male black wearing a black ski mask, a black sweatshirt and maroon colored cargo pants.
