AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING An Air Quality Health Advisory remains in effect for the following counties: Nassau and Suffolk. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of ground level ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Malverne Duo Nabbed for Valley Stream Home Break In

Fifth Squad detectives report the arrests of two Malverne men for a burglary that occurred in Valley Stream on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 8:35 A.M.

Raymond Buckridge has been arrested for Burglary in the 2nd Degree, after being caught pawning items from a Valley Stream home break in.

Malverne, NY - February 16th, 2016 - Fifth Squad detectives report the arrests of two Malverne men for a burglary that occurred in Valley Stream on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 8:35 A.M.
 
According to detectives, Raymond Buckridge, 32, of Orbach Ave. and Michael Kelly, 46, of King St., entered a residence on Molyneaux Rd., by breaking the glass on the side door of the home.  
 

Michael Kelly has been arrested for Burglary in the 2nd Degree after a DNA Match to evidence left at the scene.
 
Once inside, the defendants removed assorted jewelry (value undisclosed) and fled the scene. Detectives recovered defendant Kelly’s DNA, who had cut himself on the glass, at the scene. Buckridge, who had pawned some of the jewelry that day, was identified by the pawn shop owner.
 
Fifth Precinct police officers arrested both defendants on Monday, 02/15/16 in front of 118 King St.  Buckridge is being charged with Burglary 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession Stolen Property 5th Degree and Tampering with Physical Evidence. 
 
Kelly is being charged with Burglary 2nd Degree and Ped Right of Way/Cross Rdway (previous open warrant). Both defendants will be arraigned on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 in First District Court, Hempstead.
