Hempstead, NY - February 15, 2017 - The Village of Hempstead recently joined the Hempstead Chamber of Commerce to celebrate their 3rd Annual Empowerment Luncheon, a day geared toward supporting youth education. They were celebrating the creation of the Hempstead Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund (HHC Scholarship Fund) which will strengthen relationships between business communities and young professionals. Mayor Hall and the Village of Hempstead supported this event as part of the Mayor’s dedication to improving youth education by providing and equipping young leaders with the tools to handle the challenges of the future. The business community in Hempstead hopes to raise north of three thousand dollars. The scholarship will be given to three Hempstead High School students pursing a college degree in business, law enforcement, education or community advocacy.
