Bean's Bagels Opens in St. James

Written by Lon Cohen  |  17. February 2022

Can Long Island get enough bagels? Apparently not. Bean's Bagels opened recently in St. James and online reviewers are loving it.

According to the website, Michael “Beans” Budani is a Long Island chef who is trying to put a new twist on bagels. Bagel offerings include the classics plus even more off-the-wall mash-up flavors like cookies and cream, banana ramma, smores, and fruity pebbles.

They have some even crazier creations like the Unicorn, which is a rainbow bagel stuffed with raspberry crumb cake and birthday cake cream cheese, a Crazy Berry, a blueberry bagel stuffed with a blueberry muffin top, blueberry cream cheese, and topped with fresh berries or the French Toast Bagel, stuffed with banana bread and our banana chocolate chip cream cheese (All $5.99).

On Yelp, Joanna D, of Massapequa, gave it five stars.

“So happy to have found this place,” she wrote. “There are not many good bagel places in Smithtown so I was happy to find a new place in St. James! Beautiful space for a bagel shop and the place is spotless!”

Lisa A, from Middle Island, also loved it.

“This was worth my visit,” she wrote. “The bacon scallion cheddar bagel was nice, soft and yummy. Mike the owner was there and made it fresh for me which was really nice.”
