A restaurant (or possibly two) is planned for 62 West Main Street in Bay Shore, a spot that at one time used to house South Shore Outdoor apparel company and was a Benjamin Moore paint store for a few years.
Plans were submitted to the Town of Islip to renovate the space and apply for a special permit for a restaurant, a rooftop bar and outside seating.
The existing structure is 8,615 square feet on the first floor and 8,615 square feet on the second floor. An additional proposed roof top deck would include another 6,915 square feet of space.
The plans call for two tenants in the space but that was not confirmed.
Right now, the plans seem to call for the renovation for two tenants, once is a 55-seat restaurant on part of the first floor and the other is a 216 seat restaurant on the first floor and roof deck. Plans say the second floor is reserved for office space.
