Roosevelt Woman Arrested After Allegedly Stabbing Relative with Knife During Heated Domestic Incident
The First Squad reports the arrest of two Roosevelt females for an incident that occurred on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 8:20 pm.
According to Detectives, Police responded to a Park Avenue residence for a domestic incident. Upon police arrival, officers were informed that the defendants Naomi Hernandez, 20 and Defendant Maria Jose Hernandez-Calles, 30, were involved in a verbal argument.
The argument escalated and the Defendant Maria Jose Hernandez-Calles kicked in the bedroom door of Naomi Hernandez causing damage. Defendant Naomi Hernandez then proceeded to grab a knife and stabbed Maria Jose Hernandez in the abdomen and left arm causing puncture wounds.
The victim was transported to a local area hospital for treatment of her injuries and placed under arrest. She is listed in stable condition. The Defendant Naomi Hernandez was also placed into custody. No other injuries reported.
Defendant Naomi Hernandez is charged with Assault 2nd Degree and Defendant Maria Jose Hernandez-Calles is charged with Criminal Mischief 4th Degree. Defendant Naomi Hernandez was arraigned on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at First District Court 99 Main Street, Hempstead. Defendant Maria Jose Hernandez will be arraigned when medically practical.
