Long Island staple Village Hero's Has Officially Closed

Village Heros', a Long Island eatery known for its foot-long sandwiches has permanently closed after more than a half-century in business.

Nassau County and Syosset staple Village Heros' has officially closed down. The last day of business was Friday, Feb. 17.

The buisness, located at 80 Jericho Turnpike, said the circumstances leading to its closure were out of its control. 

"As many of you know, we are sadly closing closing our doors for good (at this location) next Friday, February 17th. Unfortunately this situation is out of our control at this point."

Village Heros stated in a recent post on Facebook.

"We have fought long and hard but our new landlords want us off the premises by the end of this month,"
