Moriches, NY - February 21, 2019 - In honor of the 100th day of school, Moriches Elementary School made more than 100 positive phone calls to families in their school community expressing how their children are positive role models, leaders, good citizens, hardworking and more. Members of the Moriches faculty and staff, including teachers, teaching assistants, support staff and administrators all pitched in to make a total of 122 calls. This was the second consecutive year that Moriches Elementary School has coordinated this unique event.
“Our goal was to spread love, positivity and joy among our school community by making at least 100 positive phone calls home to celebrate the 100th day of school at Moriches Elementary School,” said Deirdre Redding, principal, Moriches Elementary School. “It is so nice to hear positive messages about your children and it is a great way to celebrate our incredible students in the building. The response from the families as well as the staff members was tremendously positive. Everyone was so excited to be a part of this beautiful experience.”
