The Homicide Squad reports the details of a Serious Vehicular Accident that occurred at 6:41pm on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 in Wantagh.
According to Detectives, a fifty-year-old male pedestrian walking on Jerusalem Avenue from the southside to the northside of the roadway was struck by a Mercedes Benz SUV travelling eastbound on Jerusalem Avenue in the vicinity of Hawthorne Drive West.
The male victim sustained head trauma and was transported by a Nassau County Ambulance to a local area hospital and is listed in critical condition.
The sixty-two-year-old driver remained on scene and safety checks were performed on the SUV at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
