Reports indicate that the a new "329" area code will be rolled out soon in New York State due to the existing "845" code serving some parts of the state having nearly exhaused the possible combinations for new phone numbers.
The new "329" area code will be incorporated into NYS counties that currently utilize the "845" code, which includes Columbia, Delaware, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Putnam, Rockland,
Sullivan, Ulster, and Westchester.
Previously, the "329" area code was slated to be rolled out in the third quarter of 2023, but that plan has now been bumped up to Friday, March 24.
