The Estée Lauder Companies Cosmetics Warehouse partnership with the Long Island Coalition for the Homeless (LICH) began as part of their broader efforts to support the local community & people in need. LICH, a nonprofit founded in 1985 and based in Amityville, is dedicated to addressing homelessness in Nassau and Suffolk Counties by offering essentials like clothing, personal care products, and a pantry of non-perishable food items at their in-house Boutique where individuals in need are invited to shop, free of cost.

LICH also supports the homeless community by providing vital services to those in need and building a network and a "continuum of care" to help homeless people find permanent housing based on their unique needs.

“Our collaboration with LICH is grounded in The Estée Lauder Companies’ values and our business goals,” said Lisa Walsh, Director & Account lead on The Estée Lauder Companies Corporate Sales Team. “Our employees are also passionate about contributing to the causes they care about and giving back to the communities we serve. We understand that corporate responsibility extends beyond business, and engaging in community outreach aligns with our core values of making a positive, lasting impact on the lives of others.”

To that end, the upcoming collaborative charity event between the two will start at The Estée Lauder Companies Cosmetics Warehouse in Melville on Saturday at 80 Ruland Road, Melville NY on March 1 and run every Saturday during the month at that location, ending March 29. Warehouse attendees who spend $100 or more will be given the opportunity to select a product (from a preselected group) to donate to the LICH Boutique. PLUS, warehouse sale attendees who bring a non-perishable food item to donate at a March Saturday sale will get rewarded with a FREE deluxe cosmetic item.

Greta Guarton, LMSW, the Executive Director at LICH applauded The Estée Lauder Companies Cosmetics Warehouse for their valuable partnership in this upcoming charitable event and anticipated further collaboration with the company in the future in their continuing efforts to quell homelessness on Long Island.

“Our free Community Boutique and Pantry distributes essential items, such as personal hygiene products and household cleaning supplies to at-risk Long Islands accessing our center. There is also a need for beauty products, which are often requested by our clients,” Guarton said. “These products often make women feel confident as they stabilize and navigate their day to day lives. This drive will help supply our clients with products that are needed and prioritize self-care and well-being.  We look forward to working with The Estée Lauder Companies Cosmetics Warehouse in March of 2025, and hope this partnership continues to serve homeless people on Long Island.”

The LICH Boutique accepts an array of donations – From wheelchairs to toiletries and cosmetic products. The Boutique is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 10AM-3PM. Shopping and pick-ups from the Boutique are by referral and appointment, only. Donations can be dropped off during that timeframe without an appointment. “Our mission is made possible through community partnerships with individuals, civic groups, nonprofits, local businesses, and corporate partners,” Guarton continued. “Everyone has a role to play in supporting people who are unhoused, unsheltered, or at risk of becoming homeless.  The Long Island Coalition for the Homeless, with The Estée Lauder Companies, is committed to strengthening our Long Island communities through collaboration and learning.”

Walsh echoed LICH’s sentiments, encouraging all Long Island residents who wish to make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate to turn out during the month of March and support this esteemed and heartwarming event.

“By supporting LICH, The Estée Lauder Companies hopes to inspire others to take action, whether through direct contributions or simply by raising awareness of the issue,” said Walsh.
