Two Injured in Serious North Patchogue Crash

Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a two-vehicle crash that seriously injured two men in North Patchogue yesterday.

North Patchogue, NY - February 27th, 2015 - Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a two-vehicle crash that seriously injured two men in North Patchogue yesterday.

Nicholas Kotch was driving a 2010 Nissan Frontier southbound on Route 112 when he collided with a 2003 Honda being driven by Patrick Zaffarese who was attempting to make a turn onto Route 112 from Old Medford Avenue at approximately 3:20 p.m. Zaffarese was extricated from his vehicle by North Patchogue Fire Department.

Both men suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and were transported to area hospitals by the North Patchogue Fire Department. Kotch, 35, of Middle Island was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue with a fractured femur and other injuries. Zaffarese, 51, of Bayport was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with fractured ribs and other injuries.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
