The Major Case Squad reports the arrest of three Columbian men for four residential Burglaries that occurred in Muttontown and Old Westbury on Friday, November 29, 2024, Friday, December 13, 2024 and Saturday, December 21, 2024.
According to Detectives, the defendants entered all the homes by breaking rear windows and sliding glass doors when these homes were unoccupied during evening hours. While inside, they ransacked multiple bedrooms in each house, resulting in the theft of jewelry, diamonds, gold, designer handbags, safes, family heirlooms and over $250,00.00 in US currency. An extensive investigation was conducted by the Nassau County Major Case Squad in conjunction with US Customs and Border Patrol (CBP), US Immigrations and Custom Enforcement (ICE), Enforcement Removal Operations (ERO), Muttontown Police and Old Westbury Police. The investigation included extensive surveillance conducted in the tri-state area for approximately two and a half months which led to locating and arresting the defendants.
On Friday, February 14, 2025 at 6:00 am members of the Nassau County Major Case Squad and Electronics Squad, along with the US Marshalls NY/NJ Fugitive Task force were conducting surveillance and located defendant David Fernando Moreno Hernandez and defendant Ivan Stewar Ramierez-Villalobos in Newark, New Jersey and were taken into custody.
Defendant Juan Pablo Orjuela-Saavedra was located by members of the US Marshalls NY/NJ Fugitive Task Force driving a vehicle on Hamilton Street in the vicinity of North Walnut Street in East Orange, New Jersey.
On Thursday, February 27, 2025 Nassau County Detectives responded to the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark, New Jersey. Defendants Hernadez and Orjuela-Saavedra were placed under arrest at 11:55 am and were transported to the Third Precinct for arrest processing.
Defendant Ramirez-Villalobos already in custody on Friday, February 14, 2025 was unable to be extradited because he is being held on a pending residential Burglary that took place in Livingston, New Jersey in 2023.
Defendant David Fernando Moreno Hernandez, 26, of 11-13 Thomas Street, Newark, New Jersey is being charged with four counts of Burglary 2nd Degree. Defendant Juan Pablo Orjuela-Saavedra, 23, of 207 North Walnut Street, East Orange, New Jersey, is charged with Burglary 2nd Degree. Defendant Ivan Stewar Ramirez-Villalobos, 25, of 11-13 Thomas Steet, Newark, New Jersey, is being charged with four counts of Burglary 2nd Degree.
