Syosset Man Arrested for DWI and Leaving the Scene of Two Auto Accidents

Syosset / Jericho, NY - March 1, 2017 - The Highway Patrol Bureau reports the arrest of a Syosset man for driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of two auto accidents which occurred in Jericho and Syosset on Tuesday, 02/28/17 at 10:35 P.M.

According to police, Keith Bierman, 53, of Syosset,  while operating a 2008 Porsche Suburban on the Long Island Expressway at exit 41 in Jericho, struck a 2008 Mercedes sedan.  The defendant fled the scene in his vehicle and shortly thereafter struck a Syosset Fire Department vehicle on West Jericho Tpke. in Syosset.  He again fled the scene in his vehicle.  Second Precinct police officers located Bierman on Jericho Tpke./Gordon Dr. in Syosset, where he was placed under arrest.

No injuries were reported.

Bierman is being charged with DWI, DWI (BAC+.08 Misd), two counts of Leaving Incident Without Report, Defective Tail Light, and Insufficient Lights/1 Headlight.  He will be arraigned on Wednesday, 03/01/17 in First District Court, Hempstead.
