Greenport, NY - March 3, 2014 - The Peconic Landing Resident Health Committee will present a free holistic health fair on Saturday, March 8, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Open to the public, the fair will be held in the community center of the continuing care retirement community at 1500 Brecknock Road, Greenport.
The American Holistic Medical Association defines holistic medicine as “the art and science of healing that addresses care of the whole person – body, mind and spirit.” This holistic health fair, “Whole Person Health and Wellness,” offers people of all ages a unique opportunity to discover how holistic therapies can improve their health and wellness.
Guests can learn about physical therapy, massage therapy and even pet therapy. Eastern healing techniques including acupuncture, Reiki and Qi Gong will be represented, as well as reflexology, healing touch therapy and yoga.
The four-hour fair offers a warm environment where visitors can explore everything from the world of organic foods and nutrition to many ways to reduce stress and promote relaxation for optimum health.
There will be information, demonstrations and products from popular North Fork providers, including Alternative Healing Arts, All Points Acupuncture, Eastern Sun Holistic Health, Five Branches Wellness, Alyce M. Giorgi Massage Therapy, The Market, Family Chiropractic Office and Sandra Perry Physical Therapy.
