Long Island's own "Piano Man," Billy Joel, sparked concern after taking a tumble and falling on-stage during a concert in Connecticut recently, with the incident caught on video by an audience member (click here to view video).
Joel, 75, was belting out a rendition of his classic hit “It’s Still Rock and Roll to Me” on Saturday, February 22 at the Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino in Uncasville.
The iconic singer/songwriter was out from behind his piano and carrying around a microphone stand on the stage when he started twirling it around between verses; at one point he is seen tossing the stand away, at which time he appears to lose his balance and fall to the ground, where he remains motionless for several worrying seconds.
Just before the video clip ends, however, he can be seen stirring as stagehands run over to check on him.
However, according to reports, Joel got back up unfazed and continued his concert without further issues.
Despite stepping back from the recording industry a number of years ago, Joel has continuously toured over the years and is currently slated to continue doing so throughout November 2025.
