When Brittany Pomarico and U.S. Army E-4 Specialist Obed Castro heard that the army was deploying Castro to Germany at the end of the week, their wedding plans were suddenly derailed.

The couple wanted to tie the knot before Castro was sent overseas but they had trouble finding an appointment for a marriage ceremony on such short notice. When they reached out to the Town of Babylon, Clerk Gerry Compitello helped the couple get hitched.

The Town Clerk and her staff performed the ceremony at Babylon Town Hall helping the happy couple wed before the groom’s deployment, doing so in the presence of two very close friends.

The Town of Babylon congratulated Brittany Pomarico and U.S. Army E-4 Specialist Obed Castro on their marriage.

“The town wishes the couple a lifetime of happiness together, and we thank Castro for his service to our country,” the Town said in a statement.
