Users thought they had been hacked earlier today when they couldn't log onto the social media app, Facebook.
Meta posted to the website just a few minutes ago, saying "And we’re back! Thanks for your patience as our teams worked to restore access to some of our apps this morning."

Facebook users across Long Island have been reporting outages on the social media application both on their computers and the phone app.
The website Facebook Downdetector is reporting a spike in user reporting having trouble with the app starting around 10:30am EST.
We have reached out to Meta for comment on the outage.
