Bryan Heredia Escobar, 19, along with two other suspects, allegedly beat, strangled, and stabbed a victim to death in an encampment in the woods two weeks ago. Escobar is then said to have fled Long Island, but tips eventually led police to Brewster Village in upstate New York, where he was staying in a residence.

SCPD officers, in conjunction with the Putnam Sheriff’s Office and Brewster Village Police, tracked Escobar down and placed him under arrest.

Following his transport back to Long Island, Escobar was charged with murder and is currently being held without bail.
