Kent Animal Shelter Seeks Central Pine Barrens Commission Approval to Rebuild

Calverton, NY - March 6, 2015 - The Central Pine Barrens Commission will hold a public hearing on the proposed new facility at the Kent Animal Shelter on Wednesday, March 18 at 2PM at Southampton Town Hall.
 
“The approval of the Central Pine Barrens Commission is a key and final authority on whether the Kent Animal Shelter may rebuild,” said Pamela Green, Kent Animal Shelter’s Executive Director who is celebrating 30 years this year at the organization’s helm. “The existing structures have reached a critical stage of deterioration to the extent that the shelter may have to cease to exist.”
 
The Kent Animal Shelter has prepared building plans and gotten approvals from all agencies concerned, except for this body of local elected officials and appointees.
