Amityville, NY - March 4, 2015 - Suffolk County Legislature Presiding Officer DuWayne Gregory was honored by the New York State Association of Black and Puerto Rican Legislators with their 2015 Humanitarian Award. The award was presented by New York State Assemblywoman Kimberly Jean-Pierre at the Town of Babylon’s Black History Month Program on February 28 at the Amityville Memorial High School.
The New York State Association of Black and Puerto Rican Legislators’ Humanitarian Award is awarded annually to an individual who has dedicated their professional life to improving the quality of life of members of their community.
“I am pleased to have honored Presiding Officer DuWayne Gregory with the New York State Assembly Humanitarian Award for his work in the Town of Babylon,” Assemblywoman Kimberly Jean-Pierre said. “For many years Legislator Gregory has worked tirelessly to improve the quality of life for families on Long Island and I look forward to continuing to work together to address the important issues and needs of our district, as well as to strengthen the partnership between New York State and Suffolk County.”
