NCPD: Bellmore Man Arrested for Attempted Murder after Stabbing Victim During Altercation

The Eighth Squad reports the arrest of a Bellmore man for an incident that occurred on Sunday, March 5, 2023 at 2:00 am in Farmingdale.
 
According to detectives, the male defendant, Martin Carpio entered Dominican Restaurant 4, located at 305 Main Street. The defendant got into a verbal dispute with several patrons of the restaurant. The dispute escalated and turned into pushing and shoving. Eventually both parties were removed to the street. 
 
The dispute continued and the defendant stabbed a male victim, 21, causing injuries to the victim including deep lacerations and a punctured lung. A male who was with the victim punched the defendant who fell to the ground and lost consciousness. Eighth Precinct police arrived and the defendant and victim were both transported to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
 
Defendant Carpio is charged with Attempted Murder 2nd Degree, Assault 1st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree. He will be arraigned when medically practical.
