Blakeman To File Federal Lawsuit Against NYS Attorney General Letitia James Over Nassau County Trans Athlete Ban

On February 22nd of this year, Blakeman issued an Executive Order banning male-to-female transgender athletes from playing in women’s sports on Nassau County property.

Nassau County Executive Blakeman and other Plaintiffs from Nassau County have announced that they will be filing a major federal Lawsuit against New York State Attorney General Letitia James over the cease-and-desist order she sent regarding the County Executive’s recent ban on male-to-female transgender athletes playing in women’s sports on Nassau County property. 
 
On February 22nd of this year, Blakeman issued the first-in-the-nation Executive Order banning biological males from participating in women’s sports at venues owned and/or run by the County. 
 
On March 1st, Attorney General James sent a cease and desist letter stating Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman must rescind his executive order.
 
Blakeman’s suit will be filed Wednesday, March 6, in the Eastern District.
